Scala De Faro

Scala de Faro hotel is a part of a historical building that goes back to the 15th Century. In the year of 2017, it was fully renovated and brought to you the way you see it today, infused with the sense of luxury and style. The most demanding traveller will feel the uniqueness of Scala de Faro.

The original building was constructed by the Venetians who ruled Chania back in the days, was afterwards renovated by the Ottomans in the 17th century and was turned into a hotel by the Greeks that was consequently closed in 1970.

Located at the historical and beautiful old Venetian harbor of Chania, our boutique 5 Star hotel is a place that brings calm and happiness to the demanding traveler. Built, by Venetians, in the 14th century to conduct their maritime trade and combat piracy. During Ottoman rule, the Venetian Port was left to chance until the 19th century when the Egyptians occupied the area and reconstructed the harbour and its lighthouse.

The Scala de Faro consists of 9 unique rooms and suites, across three floors, on the north and south face, overlooking either the sea or the scenic back alleys of the Old Town and the mountains. These spaces were designed to make use of the building’s original structural and decorative elements, such as wooden ceilings and floors, vintage doors and stone patterns.
